“In the land where true beasts roam, we are more beasts than them all…”

Great War Mammooth (Krumvaal Northern Alliance)

A long time ago there was the Battle of the Iron Mountain Pass. Thousands of Dwarfs had swarmed the caverns killing all inhabitants and taking it over. Some of those paid regular tribute to some of the barbarian tribes however and this caused great irritation.

The Northern Alliance was too busy however plundering neighboring lands to bother with that, so the invasion was ignored and left for many years. When the Kingdom of Talliareum was formed and the 12 Realms established, all this became more difficult. The 'true beasts' had to fight harder and at times even retreat when strong defenses were created and larger armies summoned. Small barbarian tribes were annihilated and this brought them back to reality, seeing that only through unity they could prevail. What made things worse is that gold was discovered in the Northern Alliance Territory and the Dwarf scum invaded them constantly, always pushing them back to northern territories and even establishing outposts!

The Shieldmaiden faction decided to end this and instead of fighting back the numerous Dwarf Warlords that roamed the north, decided to head straight to Iron Mountain Pass. The dwarfs were deceived in thinking they outnumbered the maidens and met them straight on the open field. Once the Great War Mammooths appeared, the tables were inverted and the surprised Dwarfs either died or run away in the caverns, were the battle continued without the huge beasts from the Northern Alliance that had proved their worth once again..."
